Project INNOCENCE is a Father & Co | REBUILT investigative initiative dedicated to the wrongfully accused, the falsely convicted, and the families left behind. We document the truth, expose misconduct, and fight for people who never should have been behind bars in the first place.

What Is Project INNOCENCE?

When innocence isn’t enough.

Most people believe that if you tell the truth, you’ll be cleared.
Project INNOCENCE exists because that is no longer true—if it ever was.

We investigate cases where:

  • A crime never occurred, but someone was charged anyway.
  • Police or prosecutors relied on “information and belief” instead of real evidence.
  • Judges rubber-stamped probable cause without demanding proof.
  • Disability, poverty, race, or family status made someone an easy target.
  • Family court or domestic violence allegations were weaponized into criminal charges.

Our goal is simple:
Document the facts. Expose the misconduct. Push for correction, relief, and accountability.

What We Investigate

Focus Areas

Use this as a grid or bullet layout.

  • False Accusations & No-Crime Cases
Situations where there was no abduction, no assault, no kidnapping, no threat—but the system insisted there was anyway.
  • Pattern Misconduct Officers
Officers with long histories of complaints whose cases keep sending people to jail without meaningful review.
  • Prosecutorial Misconduct
Suppressed evidence, misleading statements to the court, overcharging, and retaliation against defendants who assert their rights.
  • Coerced Pleas & Assembly-Line Justice
People pushed into pleading guilty to avoid decades in prison—even when they are innocent.
  • ADA & Disability Violations
Defendants with ADHD, PTSD, brain injuries, epilepsy, or other disabilities denied accommodations, understanding, or support.
  • Family Court → Criminal Court Pipeline
When custody battles and DARVO tactics are used to flip victims into “offenders,” and criminal charges are built on that lie.

Who This Project Is For

The People We Stand With

Project INNOCENCE is for:

  • Parents and caregivers falsely accused in family or criminal court
  • Veterans and service members caught in retaliatory prosecutions
  • Disabled defendants whose conditions were ignored or weaponized
  • Survivors of domestic abuse whose abuser flipped the narrative
  • Everyday people facing a system that would rather process them than listen to them

If you see yourself or someone you love in any of these categories, you are not alone here.

Submit a Case or Tip

Have a Case We Should See?

We can’t promise representation, legal advice, or immediate coverage. We can promise to read what you send with care and to protect sensitive information as best we can.

If you or a loved one has been:

  • Charged with a crime that never happened
  • Pressured into a plea to avoid an impossible sentence
  • Denied disability accommodations or basic due process
  • Targeted after speaking up in family court

…you can submit details securely.

Include a short advisory:

Do not send anything that violates a current court gag order or attorney instructions. If you have a lawyer, check with them before sharing privileged materials.

How to Support Project INNOCENCE

Keep This Work Free for the People Who Need It

Project INNOCENCE is part of a broader commitment:

We refuse to put justice behind a paywall.

Families who are already drowning in fees shouldn’t have to pay to have their story told.

Ways readers can support:

  • Become a monthly supporter to help cover records requests, travel, and basic reporting costs.
  • Sponsor a case file or investigative series as an individual donor, law firm, or advocacy group.
  • Share the reporting with journalists, lawmakers, and watchdog groups who can help push for change.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Are you a law firm or can you give legal advice?
A: No. Project INNOCENCE is an investigative and advocacy initiative, not a law firm. We cannot represent you in court or give individual legal advice. We can document stories, highlight systemic abuse, and connect people with public resources where possible.

Q: Will you cover my case?
A: We wish we could cover every case. Realistically, we choose cases that (1) have strong documentation, (2) show clear systemic patterns, and (3) may help many other families if exposed.

Q: Is my information confidential?
A: We treat all submissions carefully and do not publish names or documents without consent, unless they are already public or part of a public case file. However, no online form is perfectly secure; if your safety is at risk, use caution and avoid sending anything that could endanger you.

Q: Can I donate directly to a specific family?
A: When we feature a case with a verified fundraising link, we’ll include it in the story. You can choose to support families directly or support Project INNOCENCE’s broader work—or both.
